The app obviously isn’t as good as Outlook’s mobile apps, or the Outlook desktop app. The company has been shipping Mail as the default email client in Windows 10, and it has improved quite a lot over the years. Microsoft is bringing ads to the Mail app in Windows 10. This was an experimental feature that was never intended to be tested broadly and it is being turned off. ![]() Either way, it’s being turned off, so we can all stop complaining now. The claim here is interesting mainly because Microsoft has an entire support page dedicated to ads on Mail, and that wouldn’t even exist if Microsoft never intended to test the feature broadly. Update: Microsoft’s head of communications claimed on Twitter that ads on the Mail app were “never intended” to be tested broadly and that the company is disabling the ads on the app. ![]()
